anyone have an Ontario bowie (bagwell style with large guard) used for sale ? i saw them at the last Akron, OH gunshow for a very good price (should have bought one), if the guy from the gunshow is on bladeforums let me know...

how do the river city sheath work, are they practical for that large a carry? do they use a belt loop for IWB? comments/reviews...

this months SOF was on carrying a big blade, i'm just carrying the CS
carbon V Kobun now but would like to step up to a BIG blade...

Hi Joebe,
They actually work pretty well. I've seen some big knives concealed with just a pair of shorts and an untucked shirt, had to "brush" the guy to see if it was even there. The Southern Comfort sheath slips down inside the waistband, a metal stud keeps it from slipping to far south. Since it's not fixed to one point the sheath can "float" so it's very easily adjusted for comfort and concealment. I like mine to sit just behind the hip with the tip kinda riding in along the dimple of my ass cheek and the handle canted forward towards the inside the elbow. Mike does a great job with the sheath tension, which seems to be critical in getting a rig like this to work. Below is a pic link to a Southern Comfort sheath.
