does anyone have info on the Ontario Bagwell seconds ??
these have slight manufacturing defects and are apparently available at a greatly reduced price. there is a "midnight" on ebay for $89 !!
does anyone have a source for these ?? and if so, what models are
available and for what type of price ?? i could live with a blemish on the handle if it saved me $100...

I bought a Hell's Belle second from AG Russell a year or so ago and can't find a flaw anywhere on it. I think the price on those was $135 or thereabout. Recently I got a second Gambler off e-bay for under $100. Very noticeable flaw, the point where the guard and handle meet is sloppy, some small gaps on the fit. Other than that I think the seconds are alright. They display nice and they're cheap enough to play with. I'll probably never break even if I have to sell the ones I have though, it seems the auction market is flooded with them right now.

Hi,

I've seen a few of the seconds. The main flaws I've noticed were minor scratches, rounded over points(just slightly) and poor fit at the guard/blade juncture. I've also seen a few that were perfect to the naked eye, but had scuffed scabbards,etc....

HTH:)!

i'm getting the ebay "midnight" and will send it off for mods and the kydex sheath, the only thing wrong with this one is supposed to be
a nick in the blade finish at the spanish notch, i'm sure even i can
fix that without to much effort.

i just found out about these seconds, for a "using" knife i don't see
anything wrong with the second, as long as the defect is cosmetic,
when it gets banged up you don't have to sweat it...

who knows the seven terms from the Keating bowie basics, the first is
"PRIMA"- anybody know the rest ??
