I thought the Ontario Blackbird SK5 was gone for good. It broke my heart.
Now I see a 420hc version at an online seller.
My heart lit up.
To me, the SK5 has always been a grail knife (I live overseas); and it seems a worthy successor to the original Kephart (I'm just reading his book)... just in stainless, which is key for me, and an easy to sharpen steel.
(The s35vn is not available in my area; only the 420hc.)
Does anyone have any experience with this particular model. Any thoughts on this model? Much appreciated. Thank you.

I somewhat doubt it. But for the design/aesthetics, I wouldn't mind so much where it's made.
Per Knifecenter's website, they are made in the USA, but since the Ontario factory shutdown they must be having them made by someone else. That is why I was curious.
Edited to say I hope they bring back some of their other fixed blade models, and the Old Hickory line as well

I got 2 sk4 s in 154cm off chicagoknifeworks they were both factory seconds and customer me 65 each last year. I originally wanted an sk5 for years but they were a bit too pricey but sk4 is a near perfect size and is in my fixed blade carry rotation.

Nice, the SK4 in 154cm is amazing. Unfortunately, only the SK5 in 420hc is available, via a reseller, for me to obtain.
