I have to say that I am very impressed with OKC. They offer so much at their price point, that i think they are about the only choice for a large fixed blade knife on an extremely tight budget.
I had a Sp5 survival bowie that had become loose in its handle, and I was a bit iffy on whether or not they would fix or replace the knife, as I have heard some negative bias against Ontario and their customer service.
I contacted their customer service, where I was politely given an address to ship the knife to. This was last week. Monday morning, low and behold, I have a new Sp5 on my doorstep.
I must say that the entire process was top notch, smooth, easy, and fair. I am very pleased with Ontario. I will continue to use and appreciate their knives, from my kitchen to the bush:-)

I had a very good experience with them as well.

I hit something with my RTAKII and took a sizable chunk out of the blade.
When I called them and explained what happened, they told me to send it in.
I had a new one in my hand in six or seven days with no questions asked.

I called them once to have a pizza delivered to me in 30 minutes or less, they never even showed up.

Good day! I live in Ukraine. I had a wonderful knife Ontario Apache, but it broke. I sent him email to this company. It took a long time, I'm trying to contact someone, but I no one is responsible-enough-my letters began to be blocked.... I didn't expect such a relationship!!!

I also had a good experience with their customer service when I had a SP43 blade bend when it hit a knot in a piece of pine. I sent it back and offered to pay the difference to get the Rat 7. No problem. And FWIW, I have been extremely pleased processing firewood with the Rat 7. It's bent and warped inside knotted wood, only to pop right back in line when it busts through!

Damn!!! I'm a little confused... Forever with these Ontario problem...((( It's just Rat-1...But I would gladly put it in the skull of a Russian separatist!!!

Nice to hear that they are willing to back their products.I too had a positive experience dealing with CS.

Out of necessity, our policy overseas is that returns have to be handled through the point of sale. We're always glad to hear the positive feedback - we want everyone who has an Ontario product to feel that we've got their back.

I believe that what they are saying is that they cant deal with you directly, but that you need to contact the authorized distributor that you originally purchased your knife from. (But I could absolutely be wrong!)

I do not respect Ontario enough to keep my post here but that is ok as somebody will clean it up for you.

But I sent them a knife!!!

Probably should have found out the warranty policy before sending the knife off.

If they don't accept it, it should end up getting sent back to you anyway, and then you can send it to the dealer, so don't worry.

I have had many interesting dealings with OKC. It first started off with a RAT7 i bought, used, and broke. I was chopping a 4 inch dia log of wood and a .50c piece size of the blade broke right off. I took pics, called OKC and talked to Karen, we hit it off, she was very informative and help full, I sent the RAT7 away, and I got a new one sent to me. 1st time using the NEW RAT7, I was battoning a pine log, right threw a knott, SAME size chunk of 1095 broke right in the log.
Unbelievable..I kept that blade damage for about one month, shortly I bought an SP50 in 5160....so chopping with that blade into a log, I went to strike off a one inch dia branch, and the branch stub actually BENT the 5160 edge and blade itself, about one inch above the blade grind, and the grind itself.
With BOTH blades, I called OKC and talked to Karen, she was aware who I was and got me in touch with Dan Maragni himself, at this point I was very happy to talk to the designer himself and a metallurgy specialist. So I got on the horn with Mr. Maragni and we have this great discussion about what has happened, he was especially interested about the 5160 SP50, and what had happened to it while in use, after the long conversation, I then sent both blades to OKC and Dan, when he got them we talked on the phone about the issues the blades were having, which was fascinating as hell to me, to talk to a man who's been in the industry as long as Dan has, and who helped Cold Steel bring about Carbon V. So in the end I had two new blades shipped back to me, The RAT7 I have given to my cousin and the SP50 I've kept...
Sooo..all in all OKC has kept me very happy with customer service and I enjoy their 5160 line better than the 109, which I believe they run too brittle, I believe they should run it a little softer so it would be tougher. Thank Karen and Dan at OKC, first class customer service! Life customer here!
