I was looking for a big folder in something other than the usual black G10 scales. I like the looks of this but haven't seen one in person. I am comfortable carrying the ZT 0200 and huge traditional folding hunters.
Haven't seen a used one for sale here and the only place I have seen them is charging a bit more than I was thinking of spending.
So my question is for those who one is it a truly massive piece with hand filling scales?
Thanks to all who respond.

Yes, it is a massive folder and the scales are substantial. I wish I would have kept mine.

Yes, it's big!... :D

It is the same size as cold steel spartan if that helps at all, but is much thicker due to the giant micarta handles. THe Hossum R2 might be a nicer choice in terms of how it carries in the belt sheath but I've not handled it so can't really say... Adding a pocket clip to this beast would be crazy.

It's around the same size as a Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical T-3. It seems to do alright with a pocket clip. The only reason I never bought one of these knives is they do not have a clip, and I despise sheaths.

The T-3 has a 4.75 blade and 6.0 handle. Same dimensions as shown above. I used to think it big, but carry it somewhat regularly and it seems to miraculously shrink on you. :D

You're welcome. ;) Are you going to buy one now? :D

Here's another pic of mine with some large folders:

You didn't see mine for sale? :D

You can search, I don't think it's on the first page anymore.

I would really like to get one now. Only problem is what I just sold didn't bring as much money as I thought it would. I will either need to sell one more thing or offer a partial trade. My collection has shrunk a lot in the last year but now any knives I have I really enjoy having. I will look to see if your ad is still up. So far I have seen 3 of the Retribution 2 on one of the auction places.

Yes, its REALLY big. I just got one. I was prepared for "big," but "big" isn't even the right word. I've seen large folders, but I think this one takes the cake. Incredibly well made too. If you can find one and are at all interested, I'd recommend picking one up. It's really hard to beat those materials, execution, and size at that price point

I like your opinion of your Retribution. It sounds like it will be everything I had hoped it would be. I recently bought one without the benefit of holding, or even seeing one. Your post kind of sets me at ease. Should have it in hand this afternoon, can't wait to fondle her.

Sent these pics to another BF member who was interested earlier today. Retribution 1 and 2. That's my hand in the picture, I wear a Medium sized glove usually, and occasionally a Small, depending on brand and/or if I want a really snug, slack-free fit. Perhaps they'll help. The retri2 is certainly more manageable, depending on your taste. The retribution 1, which i was commenting on earlier, (just got my retri2 today) is a MONSTER. I got the retri1 for my 6'5" 300+ lb ham-hock handed dad and was so impressed I had to get myself the matching retri2. While the 2 is still a big knife, those with larger hands might actually have a problem fitting their paws in the grip space allowed (Just a side note). The 2 fits me just fine and hugs my grip on both side very nicely. The build quality is really good. Very solid knives and a steal at their current price (in my opinion).

The blade steel, N690Co is also one of my favorite field-knife steels. Very corrosion resistant, very easy to sharpen, and holds and edge really well. I own several Fox knives with the same steel and absolutely love it. Think vg-10 with a slight bonus (due to grain refinement, caused by the additional Cobalt content vs vg10).

If you happen to have super sized mitts, then its a god one. I personally found the Retribution to be be very well made with a beautifully contoured handle (very rare these days in folders with G10 slabs), but just to thick in girth for my liking.
