I recently purchased an ontario gen 2 sp50 and i love it but honestly im really neurotic when it comes to some details about the handle. the kraton feels good but im worried that after hard use the handle will become loose because its kraton. i have heard about many knives coming out of their handles because of the loose kraton that developed over time(Cold steel), my question is how has your experience been with kraton from ontario knives?

take a technical approach and start here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraton_(polymer)

first off

heat: over 100c is bad no boiling water or fires
next: chemistry it is polymor so it will likly degrade from certain solvants - research further

avantages:

elastic - shock abosrbing and good grip can be easily modded for grip may not look nice

ok if you your big like me and baton all day any handle will fail, use some glue and bolt back on if your worried like jb weld.

but it is good comprimise between soft and hard (micarta) for chopping and batoning and good knife at a good price from a good company with a good rep. i own 2 onterials folder and smaller version of the 50 - i think i have hundreds of knives.????? i get confused.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
