Ontario knife company spec 103

Good morning everybody. I'm new here. I was at a local sporting goods store (want to support local) and saw some knives on the back wall that have been there for about 20 years. One of them was an Ontario knife company Spec 103. The blade also says model 8817. Does anyone happen to know what kind of stainless steel that knife is made of. I reached out to OKC and the rep couldn't tell me. Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe that was an import model and I have not found any listing of the steel used, sorry.

I doubt they used any kind of specialty steel, more than likely, it's made out of 400 series stainless.

400 series is a good bet. Ontario liked 440a and 440c, so either those, or foreign equivalent 5cr or 8cr most likely.
