I found an old Ontario Knife TL-29. I sharpened it up but it doesn't have much of a point. Is there a way to get the blade more pointy by sharpening?

You could file grind or stone it down to a point, either at the spine, or the edge but then you'd have to sharpen it more.

Ok thanks! I will try grinding down the spine.
Be careful to go slow and continuously dip it in a cup of water so you don't overheat it and ruin the temper.

It would take longer, but would be easy enough to just use some 100 grit sandpaper finishing with 300-400 grit.
You'll have more control less risk of heat and less risk of taking off too much.
