No replies on the OKC forum. I get it; it is an odd knife. An Elishewitz-style drop point would fit this nicely if it's intended to be a "survival knife" (swedge thickens). As of now, it seems to be set up for combat first while advertised for last chance survival.
SOOOOO, anyone with experience with this knife in a general camp-type setting???

P.S Same handle, 1/4 inch, high flat grind with smaller, more aggressive serrations...nobody cuts meat with bread knife.

just be sure not to baton with it; ) (doesn't look like there is a flat section anywhere along the spine) ... it looks decidedly too tactical for camp use

but having said that, I'm sure the 1095 could stand up to other camp duties (but it's an epoxy coated blade, which I personally avoid for food)

Like you said, given the blade shape, more a combat style vs survival.

Oddly shaped handle. The back of the handle seems thin. I'm guessing the tail end is for hammering/skull crusher?

If you are looking for a general camp knife and want to stick with Ontario, I'd go with the Ontario SP2 or SP1 myself.

Like dirc said, I always carry a Mora for food prep/backup knife. $15 or so, weigh almost nothing, and great knives.
