Sure sounds real, very sad. One of the few remaining NY cutlers. Both saddens and angers me to see yet another American cutlery company with so much history close its doors.
The name is or will be sold off and will end up like Schrade and Camillus, a poor imitation trying to make a profit on a name. I would rather see these names go away than be bought by a corporation that doesn’t care about anything other than milking a profit, at the expense of sullying a good name.
This is terrible news for me, not because I’m a big Ontario fan, but because I care about the history and recognize the ending of another good book.
