I recently purchased a new Ontario M7 bayonet, and am somewhat disappointed with the quality. The handle has about an 1/8th inch gap between the part that goes around the barrel, and a smaller but still noticable gap between the other side of the handle and the part that attaches to the rifle. Additionally, the bayonet has a slight curve downward (the edge is not straight). I can add pictures once I find my camera if anyone is interested. Is this typical of these bayonets?
The reason I got it is mostly nostalgia. This is the bayonet I remembered using when I was in the Army some 20 years ago. I doubt it ever sees any kind of real use, it was just something I wanted. As such, I'd like it to look pretty. I'm undecided if I should return this one and ask for another, or keep it and buy another and hope for better luck.
Thoughts and opinions?
Thanks.
Edit: I did find this....seems it's normal for a new production commercial bayonet.
