I know it's not a true survival knife ( I don't subscribe to the Rambo thing) but does anyone use one in the woods or bush ? If so what mods have you done to it ? How does the std blade perform ? Any pics? Thanks

I've used it. Decent chopper, splitter. Heavy but I only paired it with a folder and sak.

To do decent chopping you need a knife weighing at least 1 pound.
When I take my custom chopper or kukri in the woods it's to cut branches to get a clear shooting area.Trees and branches want to deflect bullets of ANY caliber. The original Bowie knife was not a combat knife but a heavy duty hunting and camping knife !
Those knives would also accompany a 4" hunting knife.

It's not going to break on ya and it's plenty capable. Probably not the best, even within it's price range, but I haven't personally tried the SP10. I have a few other SP knives though and I'm a fan. If I had one, I'd probably trim the spine side of the guard down so I could choke up on it if need be. But I would likely always have a smaller blade with me anyway so that probably wouldn't be necessary.

Nutnfancy did a demo vid where he chopped down a tree with one. Looked like it did well.

I loved that knife. I don't know why I sold mine. Had the crocodile dundee feel to it. I remember the grind being thin, not tooo thick, and loving every second of it.

Short question. Is the marine raider also a good stabber, means a good survival and combat knife, like the cs trailmaster? Seems as if the blade is too broad, or isn't it?

Stabbing would not be its First Best Use IMO. It's a chopper more than a 'fighting' knife, not sure what critters out there need to be land-spearfished.
OTOH, like the old argument about small caliber (sub 9mm) pistol rounds, none of the critics wants to volunteer to be shot with one.

I'm a big fan of the Ontario SP line. The Raider has a cool sheath.

I liked the handle on mine but I didn't care for the guard and the tip broke too easily.

Personally, not into extreme clip points like that. chew up batons really fast, and I don't do much stabbing. I'd rather have the Gen II SP51. You'll have a lot more solid spine to work with and be able to split bigger stuff, and for me that would be very useful. I'd most likely end up in a winter 'situation' so I'd be looking to bust up longer burning pieces.
