Ive got a US Airforce Survival knife that I've hated for the last 20 years. I can't seem to get a good cutting edge on it. I've come close to throwing it away a couple of times, maybe I need to reshape the edge by thinning it out a bit? It appears to be made from good steel with a decent heat treat, but there is something wrong with the edge geometry.

I had a Camillus pilot's survival knife that I had Scand ground by hand for years. Great knife. Since I have many better ones today I gave it to someone who had need of it.

Those do come a little thick. I guess you figured that out. How does it cut now? Can you make a fuzz stick?

Yes, very well. I just got back from giving it a whirl and it's a large improvement:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
