ontario quartermaster army 95?

What Ontario calls their Quartermaster is a knife they're making to resemble the old Cattaraugus 225Q. The 225Q is a much better knife, in my opinion; thicker blade, heavier butt-cap, they usually come fairly well used, so you're not afraid of a few scratches. I love my original Cattaraugus, and for personal reasons, I won't buy any Ontario products.

I do use Ontario SP17-Quartermaster,and it I'm really satisfied, just made new handle-for I prefer natural materials.

I enjoy using my SP17. The blade reminds me of the WWII and classic hunting knives. The wide blade cuts a lot better than the Ka-Bar. Handle is comfortable.Made from 1095 high carbon which is one of the few steels that everyone on BF loves. Made in USA is always a plus. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is the upper guard gets in the way, but it wouldn't take a lot of time or skill to fix.
If you like it, buy it. You won't be dissappointed.

I'm not much of a phothographer, but here they are:SP17 quartermaster, and SP1 Marine Combat, original handle moved, peace of cow horn, leather ring/s,and beechwood handle on SP17 and ashwood on SP1 ,wraped with linen twine, for better grip,on SP1 I have made mistake, put lacquer on twine,so now it looks so dirty.

its nice just not as good as the old 225Q, which is one of my favorite knives:thumbup::D i scored mine with the original sheath for 32 bucks on ebay , rock solid well balanced tank of a knife:thumbup:
might be worth checking out an older one, there tends to be plenty available as they were made in huge quantities...
cheers
