Just got this re-profiled and partly stripped Raider Bowie from a buddy.

Iver never had an Ontario knife before and look forward to using this on a trip.

Anybody have any experience or opinions about the Raider Bowie?

Pics of them in use would be nice.

So far Ive read a few positive comments on the knife (and a few not so positive on the company).

All comments welcome.

I like mine, it's definitely a great choppers in since the weight is pretty far forward. It's not really easy though to get a choke up grip due to the big guard on it. I had to reprofile mine because the factory edge was terrible but it wasn't a big deal. I think you will be pleased with it.

IMHO, it is the best "bang-for-the-buck" bowie out there. I love mine.

Better than Condor's hudson bay knife?

I don't own the SP10, but I definitely want one. I very nearly bought one, until somebody talked me into getting the BK9 instead. But there's always Christmas.

I do not own a Condor Hudson Bay........yet. For pure HD-ness & outdoor use, i would say yes. If there is lots of food prep involved, i would say no. SP10 is 1/4" thick. CHB is 3/16" thick. BK9 is a friggin AWESOME blade. "You can't not have a BK9 !"

SP10 is 1/4" thick & made in America, for about $61 to your door. The sheath is not Made in America but is plenty functional. Yet.....ALL good knives deserve their own custom sheath.

So I just took possession of one of these SP10s today, and I really like it. I just plain wasn't expecting this much heft. Carrying it is no problem, but wielding it is. I saw it as something that could be used defensively like its traditional brethren, but the approximately five ounce difference in weight makes it feel more sluggish than the BK9 I've been carrying and using for nearly a year.

So what do I do? Relegate it to a wood chopper? Or start exercising more to compensate for the slight increase in weight and difference in balance?
