Hi guys.

I am getting more and more in love with the Ranger Afghan, so i am trying to find out all i can about it.

I was wondering about the tang. Is i skeletonized or solid?
I don't like skeletonized i general. If i want to cut down on weight, i would not buy this knife in the first place :-)

So does any of you have experience with the Afghan? Any pictures of it with no scales on?

Thanks a lot

Jonas

Info on other ranger models regarding their tang, will also be greatly appriciated.

I have one but haven't had the scales off. It's a solid knife for the money for sure. I would doubt if tang was skeletonized judging from the weight.

Thanks, thats great. If you take the scales of anytime soon, let me know if you are right about its not skeletonized :-)

Get in touch with these guys, Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop:

He is a BF vendor, that's how I found him. I have bought several Ontario products from him and at this time I think he probably sells more Ontario product than just about anyone.

Can't remember his name, but he is a great guy to deal with and knows his products.

Crom: Do you own one yourself?

Midnight flyer: Thanks. I have sent an email to Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop.

I got a mail back from ontarioknives.com and they also say that the tang is not skeletonized.
Thanks for all the answers

Jonas

I don't have the Afghan but I have the RD7 and have taken it apart to put teflon tape on the screws.
