So, as most of you know, the Ontario RAT 1 folder has a cheap paint job on both the pocket clip and black blades. (I'm sure to keep the cost down) What I am wondering is what would be the easiest way to get rid of that paint on my clip to keep it from looking like a backyard paint job after extensive use. Is there any rust issues if I do this? Any recommendations are much appreciated, thanks.

I'd recommend some paint stripper (the really acidic foaming kind), and if it's not shiny enough afterward, polish it up with some high grit sandpaper. If you keep it dry I don't see why it would rust. Usually the only wear I get on my coated clips is when I accidentally rub it against something. I own a RAT1 and the coating on the clip has stood up surprisingly well.
