Ontario RAT 1 Questions?

I was just wondering in what clip position Rat 1 owners/users carry their knives? I'm not asking if tip up or tip down is better in a general way, or at all. I just want to know how people prefer to carry this particular knife.

Also, has anyone had issues with lock wear from recreational opening? I have been opening and closing my Rat a lot since I got it and don't want to be doing damage to it (or more than normal when flicking open a liner lock).

Any answers would be appreciated.
 
i carry mine tip down, right pocket. i never change the clip position from 2 years ago i bought the knife. I do recreationally open and close the knife, mostly i flicked it open. It still locks perfectly. no damage yet... I carried this knife a year full after I got it. now, I occasionally carried it.
 
Tip up RH for me. With the Rat having a steel liner it will not wear very fast and besides that they are 25 bucks so have fun with it. When it wears out buy a new one.
 
personally in most cases i like tip up but in my opinion the rat 1 carries better/deeper in tip down and ive had my rat 1 for a wile now and its still locks up bank volt tight
 
Tip down on my left hip IWB but I am right handed. Just how I roll.

Not had any problems with the lock, but it's drifted off centre with 'recreational' flipping.
 
Even with its cheap price the Rat 1 is a well built knife. Just playing with it by opening and closing it should not be a problem. This knife was made for medium use so unless you got a defective product you should have no issues at all.
I have had mine for around 4 yrs now with a lot of use and it still locks up as tight as the day I got it. Good knife especially for the price.
I carry mine RH tip up.
