I am extremely impressed with both, particularly for the quality at their price points. I owned, and later gave away, a CC2. I am biased against liner locks, and I enjoyed the grippiness and choil of the Byrd. However, it seems to me that AUS8 is going to be a better steel choice than the 8CRMo** of the Byrds. In normal EDC in the pocket, I experienced some corrosion that I have not seen on my other AUS8 knives.
