Ontario Rat 1095 Coating?

I am considering removing the coating on my RAT 5 and putting a mustard patina on it. I am planning on removing it with a paint/epoxy remover, but I would like to know what the blade finish looks like underneath (I am trying to avoid sanding if possible). Has anyone removed this coating?

It's a phosphate coating (like and M16 barrel). I would suggest a bead blast.
