I had to disassemble my rat 2 recently to take measurements for new scales I will be making. Upon reassembling the knife I released that the blade was now scratching the liner when closed. The lock up of the blade is now funky too, it doesn't click shut as well as it use to, and when it did it was now 75% lockup unlike before when the liner only went up 30-50% lock up. I have since reassembled the knife many times trying to figure what I did wrong, I even looked at videos to help. The only solution I found is tightening the pivot to the point that the knife opens more like a slip joint. I currently have the knife liners rust protected using vasiline which sucks and I am using pellgun oil (a type of oil used to lubricate air rifles) on the pivots. Any suggestions as to what I should do to return knife to like new feel? Thank you for your help.

Could there be something with regards to order of tightening the screws? Are you setting things in place as you tighten, or locking them down one at a time? I'd suggest trying to align it slowly and evenly tightening the screws. Not sure what sort of shims, bushings or washers the blade sits on, but perhaps one has gone missing or gotten bent/damaged?

Take the knife apart again. Make sure you press the pivot together all the way. It happened to me. Make sure everything it press together first in the pivot area before inserting and tightening the pivot screw.
