Ontario Rat-3 as a Neck Knife?

Hey all. I am considering a Rat-3. Have read many positive things about them and I see the sheath has holes at the base. I already have a Becker Necker with a cord wrapped handle. Anyone use their Rat-3 as a neck knife? Anyone have both? I really like my Necker, but I guess my main concern with is the handle. It's a bit short and if I get the cord wet (water, blood etc.) how hard is it to keep clean? I don't want to spend the money having the handle modified and I am aware of the various mods out there (Sheath Mechanic etc.) What do you all think?

Thanks in advance.

the rat 3 is a great little knife but it seems to me to be a little heavy for a neck knife. yes you can do it since it has holes in the sheath but I don't think you'll find it comfy. the necker is a much better choice for neck knife duty. There is another post somewhere on the board about a guy who had some problems with the finish under his wrap. after reading that post I think i'll leave my necker handle nekkid. It's funny you posted this because i'm on the other side, I'm trying to figure out a good belt mount set up for my necker. I don't like the tek-lok so I guess i'll have to figure out something else. later, ahgar

Hey Guys...

It's a little big for a necker,, however would be pretty Sweet on a MercHarness..
