Picked up this crappy worn RAT3 at a flea market for 30 bucks with box and the sheath. It was actually in decent shape but the powdercoat was torn up bad. I did a little modification to the choil, handle slabs and smoothed it up a little and ran it over to the powdercoater friend to try some fun. It did not turn out as expected....we used 6 parts day glow green to 1/2 part signal orange and 1/2 part sunshine yellow. It SHOULD have been some garish green dotted color but this is what came out....Burnt orange.....

It goes quite well with the brown canvas handles.....weird. Under 100x magnification......you can see all the colors as little dots. No clue yet as to why this happened but we like it....added cartoon rat and epoxy to cover it. Then left off the center bolts and bored it out for use with bow drill. 1 hour invested....time well spent.
I finally got the Kryptoglow handle slabs from Daniel I was waiting for...toxic lime green/blaze orange/GITD mottled pattern. I went right to work and made these up to fit this blade for my test EDC rig. Incidently, 3M extreme VHB double back is still holding onto both the kydex and the crappy plastic sheath for this. I cut a used med fine diamond hone down the middle and stuck to the front of the sheath- now I have a diamond hone attached to the sheath. Neither have come off...as a matter of fact I am unable to get them off the sheath with my fingers...good thing I got it in the right spot the first time. It is a suggested product to put metal, wood, and other lettering and numbers onto the sides of buildings covered in brick, stone, stucco, and epoxied wood and metal(it takes the paint off regular painted wood siding). I will let you know how the hone stays in place later...
