It's a plain edge. The edge was thinned out to improve cutting. Was very thick from the factory. Cuts VERY well. Now it's about 20 deg, each side. Other than some rub marks on the finish, from cutting cardboard, (need to stay away from that stuff) the knife is mint. Has never been used outside and only used a few times inside to see how it cut.
