I purchased an Ontario RAT3 several months ago and its performance has been pretty good. However today I got back in from hunting and I noticed that a screw fell out from one of the handle scales. It looked like there was red loctite in there. I think there was some on all of the screws, however I was able to unscrew them without any effort. I think I should have spent the extra $30 and sprung for an ESEE RAT. Mine is the knife without any engraving except for Ontario, USA and RAT3 above the handle, and tan scales. Dang!

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

The Ontario RAT knives are decent blades but stuff happens. You can try contacting Ontario customer service and see about getting some new screws, I've never had to use them but I've heard their service reps are pretty good.

It's a screw. Stop by your local hardware store and grab a dozen. And some blue locktite. It's cheap and easy, just like a good woman. ;)

I don't think the screws will be off-the-shelf screw. Try contacting Ontario and they should take care of you, no problem.

when i made the first set of scales for my izula i had to go to a bolt supply for screws and still had to trim them down with a dremel a bit.
