Ontario RD9 Update

I was reading some older reviews about the ontario RD9. I read about the taper problem and was wanting to know if that problem has been corrected. I won't be using it to chop wood. I have a hatchet for that. I was going to use it more for general campsite purposes. It also fits my defensive style of fighting. Which is keeping them as far away as possible. I would enjoy some opinions of the knife.
