I believe it's RTAK, for 'Randall's Training and Adventure Knife.' Designed by Jeff Randall, not related to Randall Made Knives, btw, and first made by Newt Livesay, as a relatively short, moderately heavy chopping tool specifically for working in areas with a lot of woody and fibrous plants, the jungle. It was quite popular among DEA agents for clearing pot patches. The Ontario RTAK-1 was first, and I believe was originally made in 1095. The RTAK II was redesigned to be more effective in the hardwood forests of more northerly latitudes. I have a Livesay RTAK, differentialy hardened 1095, and it's my favorite big knife for outdoor work. If the RTAK can't handle it, I go to a tomahawk. Or a chainsaw..
