So a few months ago I purchases an Ontario SP10 Marine Raider, I can’t remember how much this blade had cost me, but I wanted to write up a small review until I had actually used this one in the field.
Overall length: 15 inches Blade type: Clip point Bowie, black decorated Blade
Blade steel: 1095 carbon steel 57-59 HRC Make: Made in USA
Sheath: Leather Cordura

Normally I am not a big fan of 1095HC steel; I find it less superior to CMPS30V or AUS8 however with a Rockwell hardness of 57 to 59 I really can’t complain, I have chopped down trees 3 inches in width, stabbed sheet aluminum and lobbed countless cactus, and watermelons. After all this I still have not needed to sharpen the blade yet, Overall this is a rather hefty knife there is quite a bit of kinetic energy when swinging this blade but it worked quite well to your advantage. The sharpness of the blade is quite remarkable very sharp for its size like most Ontario blades have.
The sheath is Leather Cordura which makes an excellent camping style knife I think later on I will make a drop leg sheath out of kydex for it but when that time comes then I’ll worry about it. All in all the Ontario SP10 is an excellent blade to have its large intimidating size makes it an excellent camping blade, I personally have it strapped to my MOLLE vest and would carry it with me to the ends of the earth. If you like big fixed blades add this to your collection.

For only about $50, it's an awesome deal. I bought one a few years ago. I thinned out the edge and it will chop with the best of them.

Thanks to Maddogg77(I won it in Maddogg's give away) I now have one of these beasts in my collection.I have used it for tree and bush trimming .I even carved on some dried pecan wood. That stuff is hard! It held a edge very well.Highly recommended blade!I find it impossible to unsheath this thing without smiling.

Your welcome, good to see your enjoying it as much as me. It is an awesome knife! One of the best deals out there.

I love mine as well!
I've primarily used it as a camp knife also. I worried over the tip being too thin, but after several accidental whacks with a wood baton it's still holding up just fine. I remember the first night I had it out, chopped up all the firewood I'd need for the night and next morning, whacked it against a hard, dead tree for a while...and it would still shave.

I figure it'll be a long while, but I'm dreading the day she fails me...I think it'll break my heart.
Oh, and yeah, it's a she...her name is Suzy. ;)
