I have this ontario sp2-95 that my friend supposedly bought brand new and stashed it away. It's hard to find any real reviews on this model but I've read the swedge should not be sharpened. Mine is definitely sharpened and appears to be this way from the factory. The entire primary edge is unused so I do I believe this knife has never been used or sharpened. Did some simply come with a sharpened swedge?

Probably yes. But they won't admit it. I also bought an OKC Air Force Survival Knife for my daughter. It also came with a sharpened swedge. The reason they won't admit it, is because it is illegal in some states, including mine. I'm good with that, them not admitting it. It is considered a dagger if both sides are sharpened. Many Law Enforcement Officers do not know what a swedge is & it would be confiscated.

By the way, that is an AWESOME knife. My daughter LOVES it. She has batoned with it as well. I have been meaning to pick one up for myself, but they are always out of stock.
