Ontario Spec Plus & Freedom Fighter Series?

On SP-6 is my fave knife!
Wicked edge, good balance & I added some mods to fill my needs for bush camping with it.
You can sharpen the top edge too for maximum penetration.
It is the ultimate fighter, IMHO, for its price.

That is a nice mod on the SP-6. I used to have several Ontario Spec Plus knives, but found the edges very thick. I also picked up one of the first versions of the kukri that they started making several years ago that had very bad grinds. I have gotten rid of all of them in the past few years though.

I have a Spec plus SP8 survival machete. I's my main beater blade it has a good weight and is 1/4" thick i think it's a great bit of kit.The only negative is for long periods of chopping it eats my hand to bits but remedied that by wrapping it with cord. :)

i had a spec plus (ranger i think) a while ago, but did not like it. it was one from a few years ago, so they may be better now.

my problems with the one i had; bevels of the blade were un-even almost like a beginner knife maker had ground them, cheap feeling rubber handle and cheap sheath.

i ended up getting a becker bk7 to replace it.
