I have several Ontario Spec Plus fixed blade knives made of 1095 high carbon steel and have had excellent performance from these knives. I especially like my model SP5 survival bowie. I have used this knife more on camping trips than any other fixed blade knife which I have ever owned and I have owned several brands including Gerber, Buck, SOG, & Cold Steel. Several of these brands performed well, but dollar for dollar, I have found the Spec Plus line to be hard to beat. My SP5 bowie is strong, comfortable in the hand when chopping, chops like a hatchett, holds a very good edge, and all this performance from a $50.00 retail knife! Like I said hard to beat. What do you all think? Does anyone like these knives as much as I do? ,,,VWB.

I have an Ontario SPEC-101 spear-point fixed blade knife. My go to woods and BOB. Despite the affordable price, it is tough as nails and stands up to abuse very well. The handle is pretty comfortable and the knife has great balance and blade shape.

I like them a lot,i have six models and for the price they are great. As i have mentioned before i find the grip rough for extended chopping but gloves or wrap.My main user is the sp8 survival machette i think it's tough as hell.
