Local gun shop has one in good shape for $79? is that a good price? I cant sem to find much on the TAK compared to the RAT? what are the differences?
I am pretty new to knives so keep it simple.
Thanks,
J

I'm not sure if that's a deal or not. The TAK is made by Ontario Knife Company and they put a RAT logo on it. The Izula, HEST, and RC knives are made by RAT Cutlery. I've never held a TAK but a lot of people like them. Both OKC and RAT use 1095 carbon steel in their blades and micarta handles. I do however have lots of RC knives and recommend them highly. Great product, great warranty. Plus you can talk directly to the owners right here on BladeForums. Check out the RAT Cutlery sub forum and join the madness :)

Well, as soon as someone here is willing to sell me a RAt ill get one :)

I had the TAK. I liked the knife, the quality was excellent BUT it was a bit thicker and heavier than I needed to carry around.
