Ontario TAK. What's not to like?

I just bought one of these Ontario TAKs. I figured, for $60 I could throw it in the glove box and forget about it until I needed it. Decent steel (1095) for hard use, nice size (4.25"), and good design for a multiple of cutting tasks. It has removeable micarta scales, too.
I had to remove the factory edge even though it was 'shaving sharp', and worked the edge on a 4000 grit stone until it was polished and scary sharp.
Other than that, I'm trying to figure out what's not to like about this little blade...
Anybody else had any experience with the TAK?

I love mine, and actually just picked up a second one. I have many more expensive knives, but I end up using the TAK. For the price, if I damage it or lose it, I won't feel nearly as bad as losing a $230 or more knife.

In a passaround at a large group of knife knuts, a lot of people wanted to trade for it. The main complaints were the edge profile and the handle size and shape. Personally, I like the handle, but others wanted is a little more contoured.

I'm looking forward to getting my second to test out some different edges on it!

My point exactly.
I plan to really use this knife, as opposed to some others I own. If I damage it and have to reprofile the edge, no big deal...Punch thru a can on a camping trip and dull the point, same thing. It's just a good, handy size and inexpensive enough to eliminate that 'cringe factor'.

I don't understand the pricing structure between the three knives in the line. The RTAK is $80 the TAK is $60 while the RAT-7 is $95. These prices from 1SKS( I'm only using 1sks as a reference, Ontario has set the prices and it is consistant everywhere). Is the Rat-7 that much more expensive to make?

Thanks
Mike

Cliff,
Basically, I've never been able to leave 'good enough' alone.
The blade, when purchased, would shave, but had an obvious 'tooth' (for lack of a better description) to the edge. I simply wanted to eliminate the irregularities in the edge.
It still shaves now, but with almost no contact with my skin.

I'm strongly considering buying a TAK and $60 is a better price than I've seen so far...could someone tell me what "1SKS" stands for? Also, any additional reviews about the Ontario TAK are welcome. Thanks.
