Hi all,
Might anyone here know anything about (the German ?) company WERK ? I recently bought a (truthfully, I didn't know what the heck it was, but it was Flea Market cheap) some sort of Pick Axe which turns out to be a "Grub Hoe/Grub Axe". I let it soak for a couple of days (Vinegar bath) and scrubbed it with Steel Wool. It cleaned up pretty darn nice! The Hoe appears to be forged. The OAL of this tool is just shy of 12" with about an eight inch curved blade that is 3 3/4" wide. The Eye hole is sort of like that found on a Tomahawk Eye. The Hoe head (ummmm, that sounds kinda dirty) is about 3.75 lbs. I can make out the letters "WERK" quite clearly, preceded by (perhaps) two other letters (unable to read) and a "markers" mark (a sort of square box).
At any rate, this (I believe) German Hoe is pretty darn cool!
Regards,
HARDBALL
