Oops, need advice

I was kind of bored at work, so I took apart my CQC 7 and proceeded to sneeze one of the washers off my desk. Does anyone have advice on how to find a small balck washer on a carpet designe to camoflage dirt?

Sweep the carpet near the disaster site or just use your hand to feel for it, a good torch will probably help you out as well.
I have had a few moments whith knives in bits my self and I find sweeping up is always the best way to find all the pieces.

That's when it's time to break out the magnet, pendulum, and dowsing rods.

If it's steel just sweep a magnet lightly across the carpet nap and think good thoughts!

Magnetic metal parts are no problem. We repair laptops in the shop and have a large magnet on wheels that finds things you didn't even know you lost.. It's the plasctic parts that are a bit more difficult to find.
