oops!Off Duty ripped its pants! Need New Pants.

Apparently, Off Duty does not like constraining pants. It has torn a chunk of kydex out out the pants I have, and now the kydex is ripping. The forward talon hole did the damage. Why must my Off Duty destroy eveything it touches?
Off Duty needs new pants. Who do y'all recommend for leather pants. Maybe Off Duty won't feel so bunched up. Thanks!
 
I think that's just ot much knife for you.
What I recomend you do is sell it to me and let me worry about ordering new pants for it, I think Armoralleather should be back producing like mad soon, so I won't have to wait too terribly long. If I decide to go with Kydex, I think Okuden may be able to get me some nice fitting pants.

If Mtmike can't keep some cow pants on it then it was just meant to be nekkid!
 
I'll 2nd mhawgs recommendation for Mt. Mike. Great guy to work with and does an awesome job :thumbup:
 
My computer and camera are not getting along :( hope to have it fixed soon. I swear it's not me! It went right through the first (leather) sheath I got for it! The kydex has lasted a couple of years, but the forward talon hole (close to the blade) has worn a triangle into the kydex. Now at the apex of this a crack has formed. Every time OD goes in, this area stretches. The kydex is tight (for now) and locks nicely, but it is this very thing that is causing its own destruction. That fat blade eats everything.
 
You may need to send the knife to a sheathmaker to get one made for that exact knife. Because these materials strech it looks like the OD will fit in a sheath that it shouldn't.

Send me an email. I would like to know who made the sheath you are using now and what configuration of OD you have. A pic would help out, might give us some idea of the thickness of kydex used. if it is .080", you might just need to step up to .093".

What configuration of OD? Man, there is a lot to know about Busse's! What can I tell you that would help to I.D. it?

Huh? Is the kydex defective possibly?
Why not try to see if you can get a warrantee service or replacement on it first?
(if you didn't abuse it, that is.)
 
The blade is tan and the handles are ruddy brown. The sheath is a couple of years old...beyond warranty. I am suprised the kydex is cracking, not just wearing.
 
The person who made it is no longer in the business of making sheaths. Kinda stuck on asking him. Do you really think this an exceptional case? If I get another made in kydex this shouldn't happen?
 
Are we going to get to see pics? I'm kinda curious what it looks like. My OD only gets the original factory (leather, not cardboard) sheath.
 
I would be surprised if it cracked...i havent had that happen to me yet BUT I am working on it!! lol

For leather pants for your Busse, I would also suggest MtMike and Armoralleather.com....both dudes are tops!!

Kydex?? Buybrown baby!!!!!
