Tell me about it! I went to a gunshop yesterday for the first time in about 6 months. I ended up trading one of my rifles for a S&W Airweight .38. I wanted something lighter to carry than my 9mm`s or .45 or .44. That a Redhawk you got there?

udtjim, a gun *exactly* like that one followed me home about a month and a half ago! Don't you just hate it when that happens??? He keeps eating all my ammo too!

This one is the GP 100 or 160 as they call it now. 6 inch barrel. This one is for my birthday coming up this month. I got to shoot it today just a little. The wife shot it too. We gave the 45 a little workout too. Hell it got up past freezing today. 35. Second warmest day of 2009. we got to 42 one day about two weeks ago.

it was 85o here today. unfortunatly, i really hate that kind of weather. enjoy your 35 for me :) !

It was 77 when I went fishing this afternoon. The fishing around here sucks, but the weather was great. I should have taken the Ruger out for a few rounds instead of fishing. I may do that Saturday, sounds like a very good idea.

This is a Ruger GP-100. Because of the 6 inch barrel, the dub it the GP-160. Probably the toughest 357 Magnum there is. You can't hurt these. I have always had one but this one is to replace one that I sold in a weak moment. Never again.:thumbdn:

Thanks.
I had heard of the triple lock cylinder on some revolvers.
Now I have a model and a photo.

Ruger builds revolvers like John builds knives, Like a tank. Thats what drew me to his knives, looked like Rugers.

I hope he takes that in a good way, some people think Rugers are ugly.:D

No offense taken here, I`m a Ruger fan, got three of them myself.

About six months ago I was going to trade my Ruger 45 auto in on a 45 Kimber. I went to a gun shop with a range and they set me up with a Kimber to take back to the range to shoot. I actually took two Kimbers back to shoot. One was a full size and full weight model, the other was the alloy carry model. I had my Ruger as well. I bought a couple boxes of 230 Grain Hydroshocks to test them out. I ran the combat target out to 25 yards and shot eight rounds through all three guns. I then gave them a quick clean with a bore snake and repeated the test again. The Ruger grouped slightly better than either Kimber although all three guns kept all the shots near the ten ring. To make the story short, I went home with my Ruger and my money. I still would love to have the Kimber, and I have three that are available for me to shoot any time i want to. However, there is no way that I can justify trading the Ruger the way it shoots.

I have had about ten RugerAuto's and I am still waiting for one to malfunction with any load. I have had a few Nine MM Rugers that didnt really shoot as well as I thought they should but they are DEAD reliable and accurate enough for their intended purpose. Most have shot very well.

Well enough gun reviews. Man would I love to still have all of the handguns that I have had.
