Here it is one I just finished. Just needs an edge put on it and a sheath.

Overall it is almost 13"
7 3/4" from guard to tip
Superglue finished Oosic with natural end
5/32" mosaic pin
ferric chloride etched wrought iron guard and spacer
Chad Nickol's 1095/nickel damascus with Plum Brown finish

Thanks for looking Jim

I was wondering what ever happened to this thing. I haven't been visiting the gallery enough. Looks formidable!!! Gives a whole new meaning to dicking around. Also gives a whole new meaning to sticky dicky.

Does that hook under the ricasso have a purpose? Is it kind of like a barb so the knife can't slip back out when you ram it home in whatever bastard your skewering?

I'm not used to stickers so I don't know anything about them. Guess it shows. :o

That came out nice Jim. The damascus is really cool and the handle is a great conversation piece.

Thanks guys, It was a interesting project and I am happy with the way it came out. Phil the hook has no real purpose, I just thought it would fit the flow of the knife better. I have seen some real interesting ideas and notches in this area. I am starting out simple. Jim

here is the link to the thread on its creation

Beautiful knife! Great job. The knife just jumps out at you and says "QUALITY".

Thank you very much. The biggest share of the ability to get that look comes from the good people here, Their how tos, pictures, posts and tons of great information that everyone shares here day after day. I owe everyone here a huge thanks for all their help. One look (not to mention the performance) at a knife I made before I found this place and this knife would show just how much. In the project thread alone many pitched in with some great advice. Jim

Now the hard part, put a price on it, and say good bye. My wife says I always fall in love with them for a bit. LOL

WOW! I sure hope you haven't sold this before we get together this winter. I sure would like to hold this beast. Excellent work. I really like the curves of the blade, they complement the oosik handle very well.

Man this piece is awesome! I knew who made the steel even before I read it, as Chad is a good friend of mine and one helluva steel maker!
