So, i know when i first got my sebenza and umnumzaan, i was a little dumbfounded as to why everything felt so hard to open or close(umnum). Definitely not what i was used to starting out with knives. The whole concept of pushing up instead of out was very interesting when opening these CRK's. And after Tasmaniac posted and seeming like he gave up on one handed closing for the umnumzaan, i felt the need to do a video.

Hopefully it's helpful, maybe something will just click after watching(if you haven't watched other peoples vids yet). If not, and it's just really hard to open the old style, i recommend trading/selling that one for the new ones with the extended frame. For people who don't have a problem opening the old style, they may not see a difference, but maybe it would actually be better for you. Enough banter, time for the show

if anyone has better ideas to help people with their first time, please drop a line.

Thanks, man! I was able to close it with one hand after trying your method. It wasn't easy and I think I'll stick to two hands, but it definitely worked.

Edit: Practice makes perfect.... I can close this bad boy with one hand and I'm sure it will only get easier.

glad it could help in some way. hopefully you'll have no more issues with it :D

Nice vid. That's exactly how I close my Sebenza too, but have to use some caution initially though. Before I got really good at it the blade actually dropped on my thumb on several occasions but luckily the edge landed on my nail.
