Hi Folks, I guess this can fit here, its about fire and food outside right? Posted in Cooking section as well.........

Going out shooting on the weekend and want to make the crew a campfire lunch, something different than the traditional hot dogs. Any suggestions for an open fire, cold sunny day meal?

Cheers,

Ham steak is excellent. I always bring one when I camp. It tastes great cooked over a fire & is easy to cook. It's sealed in thick plastic so you can just throw one in your cooler and cover it with ice.

Make a pot of stew in a Dutch oven, while you are shooting. Dutch oven meals are one of the best outdoor meals there is !!!!

An old standby... Spread out a 12" piece of aluminum foil. Place a chicken boob on it. Cut slices of onions and carrots on it. Pour some cream of chicken or mushroom soup on it. crumble up the foil like a baked potato and literally place it in the edge of the fire. You're good to go... Big winner everytime i make it at deer camp.
