Hello, I'm on an iPhone 5 safari browser. It says open in app and install on the top of the screen.
I try hitting each button or the x and it won't go away. I can't access the navigation menu.

Any help please, thank you!

There is a small button on the screen where you need to tap "Do Not Show This Message Again" or similar. Once that is checked, it should be okay. What iOS version are you on? If it is the latest, it might be a continual bug from the recent iOS 8 junk Apple pushed out.

Thank you. I'm on 8.0.2 I believe. If I zoomed in / out to the exact perfect spot where my phone didn't hit the log out text, it hit the X. I just hope it doesn't pop up again.

Update: it is still there. If someone who runs the forum code could please look at this and maybe disable whatever addon this is? It isn't even linked to tapatalk or anything, it goes to nothing when I click on it. But I'd rather it be gone. Thanks! Its hard to log in with it there even.

I am experiencing this as well. It also causes me to have to enter user name and password every time I log in. Even crazier I was in Best Buy to ask a friend about it and after 3 days it was gone. I left their wifi range and it was back. My friend says they have pop up blocker on their wifi is probably the reason. Errr...... Any fixes?
Thanks

I have the same phone, iPhone 5. When you log in, click "Remember Me" and it should be gone.
Can you guys upload some screenshots so I can see what it is you see?

Thanks for getting back to me so soon.here's a picture of both logged in and not logged in and the X does nothing to remove the icons. I am using a fully updated iPhone 4s.

I check the box when I log in and and still don't stay logged in. It stays logged in if I refresh but if I go to any other screen and then back to the same page it requires user name and password. Yesterday I took my phone to the post office to send a money order and could not get these icons to disappear to click on my notification tab to retrieve a PM for the address of the person I was sending the money order to and had to drive back home to look it up on a computer.
I've tried both restarts hard and soft. Pop up blocker is on.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure if it'll help but here is what I get when I click on install.

The open in app one just brings up an "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid" notice.

Thanks again!

Hmm, that is strange. I'm trying to recreate this on my iPhone. Thanks for the screenshots, it helps. Here is some random questions:
Do you have any browser related apps installed?
You are on 8.02 correct?
When you are on WiFi there is no issue, what about when you use 4G?
Have you tried Chrome Browser to see if there is any difference?
This has me really puzzled, but I am starting to think it is a glitch in Safari more than anything else. A lot of people are reporting all types of weird glitches since the last update after 8.0. I'll keep digging around and see if I can find any specific cases similar to this.
Thanks!

Hey Guys. I had the same problem on my iPhone 4s and also my iPad mini. The X would not close it out.

Your safari browser is set to private. What that means is it wont save any website data.

You need to click the double squares to open a new page and on the iPhone, it will say "Private" at the bottom and on the iPad it will say "Private" up top.
Click that and the problem is solved.

If your browser is a blackish grey color you are in private mode. If it is light grayish, you are in normal mode.

Hope that helps. I know I was getting upset there for a while when I couldn't get it to go away.

Not sure what you mean by browser related apps
I updated to latest IOS a couple of weeks or so ago and 8.0.2 bug repair etc. after this started but it didn't help.
Haven't tried Chrome yet, but that was recommended by a friend.
It's been like this non stop for 4 days or so except when I was at Best Buy and connected to their Wi-Fi when it went back to normal, but as soon as I left BBs Wi-Fi range it came right back. A guy there said he thought the reason for this was BBs strong pop up blocking.

Thanks for your time.

Woo Hoo. You are the man! Once again I guess Apple decided I needed something that I really don't.
Thanks again RD and sorry I didnt realize this sooner. Probably the result of big fingers and small screen.

I did notice the new gray color but it was part of the new IOS.
Any idea why it worked perfect on best buys wifi? That's strange to me.

Glad that worked for you. I had mine set to the private mode cause I like the blackish color better. Don't know why Apple won't let us keep the dark mode or light mode for normal use.

And man that is very strange to me as well? Not really sure why it would make a difference who's wifi you were on? It might be their popup blocker, Don't know what else it could be.

Mine does the same thing once in awhile. No wifi involved, very annoying as you can't select a forum. Also it asks me to install tapatalk everytime, checking the do not show again box does nothing. Plus it won't even install tapatalk if I agree.

Mine does it still so I guess if I want to get rid of it I'll have to try non private. But I hate how bright it is. I use private for the dark status bars. Also I have the forum set to dark theme. For temporary, if you're in portrait mode. The x works as long as you are logged out.
