Dear Yangdu,

I am truly indebted to you for sending the 20 inch Chiwura Ang Khola ..." amazed" doesn't even come close to describing my feelings when it was delivered to my front door this morning on the other side of the world less than a week after ordering it online!!!

"Stunned" again doesn't do justice to my true feelings upon beholding the Khukuri for the first time.

"Jubilation" certainly doesn't describe to my feelings upon inspecting the knife in detail.

"Satisfaction" doesn't convey my feelings of approval and pride and happiness of making my purchase from you and your fine company!

My heart-felt thanks doesn't express my true feelings of "Gratitude" to you for your generosity in making my purchase possible due to your special offer.

Could you please pass on some of my feelings to Get Changa Kami for his awesome workmanship on my very first Khukuri?

Respectively and Sincerely Yours,

bruce

I take it you like your new AK? ;) Welcome to the club. There are many here who feel all those things about Yangdu and HI.

The phrase "visceral awe" often comes to my mind.

Congratulations and welcome.

Bruce, my friend, you're just going to have to start speaking in plain english. I can't make heads or tails of whether or not you like your new khuk;) :D

In all seriousness, welcome to the fold. Enjoy your new knife. I hope it brings you lifetime of safe usage, and I hope that you "adopt" many "brothers and sisters" to join it:)

Khuks are alive and magical. It sounds like a metaphor, but sometimes I wonder.
Once again, welcome to the Cantina:)

My first Kukri was a 20" CAK.
The one I ordered during the recent DOTDs I couldn't resist at that price.

Do I need 4? Sure, they are backups in case ummm, er, well, no.

If you think you like it now, wait til you put a real nice edge on it and chop at some wood. Be careful not to have any body part you want to keep in the swing or followthrough, a 20" CAK with a good edge will go completely through more than you might think.

my personal experiences with yangdu and HI echo your thoughts exactly.....

welcome to the club......

I hate this place... first Khukuris, now I may be developing an addiction to Busse Combat knives as well. Bastages!

Welcome to the forum, thank you for the kind words

Forget the Busses - more money to spend on khuks!

Runs away from Busse fans ;)

YOU BETTER RUN BOY!!!!

Hahaha J/K, I have an affinity for HI's and Busse products. When you couple a great product with a great warranty you have a winner in my book. I have both and love using them both.

I have no doubts. I swear my 21.5" Chitlangi by Sher has a personality. I love all my khukuris, but there's something extra with that one. Something unseen.

Here is another otherwise healthy individual in the prime of life now hopelessly overcome by the dread HIKV virus. Quick Bruce you can still save yourself just repackage said blade and ship it directly to me! Hurry time is short! Welcome I bet ya won't get just one. My favorite is my Bura made M-43.

I'll chime in and say you're right on the money there Munchi Kool. I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't grab a HI knife and use it on some product.

Have fun with your new knife.
Mark

Welcome I bet ya won't get just one. My favorite is my Bura made M-43.

Thanks for all your favourable comments and warm welcomes.

Despite the warnings I'm afraid to say it already is too late.

Since I have started at the larger end of the Khukuri spectrum with the 20inch CAK, I am now thinking that my next one could come from somewhere in the middle, say a M-43?

But then a 12inch Sirupati would certainly be a contender as an example of the small, light and fast Khukuri would it not?

Oh the choices, all those delightful choices yet to be made ... ;)

I sympathize Munchi kool. My first HI was a 20" CAK also. Like you, I'm thinking that a smaller snappy sirupati would counter balance the CAK well.

Welcome to the forums, sit back and enjoy the show!

Might I suggest a chitlangi?

Might I suggest a chitlangi?

Yes, you certainly may ... :)

I was not aware that the chitlangi (got to love those double fullers ;) ) was available in so many lengths.

Now that makes it the chitlangi, and a M-43, and then a Bonecutter - can anyone tell me were I can find out about its origin - and a Boomerang too ???

But lets not forget the Sirupati entirely !!!
