Opening a stuck snap on a leather sheath

I usually stick a thin screwdriver blade under the snap and slowly twist until it gives. If it's a PTD snap, there are YT videos that show how to set them to avoid issues in the future.

Blues has it correct. Doing it carefully prevents damaging the leather because the force is between the snap pieces and does not put a lot of stress on the leather.

That's why God made Sam Browne studs. Plus they're cooler.

Blues is correct , I’ll just add that I’ve used a needle tip oiler with mineral oil. I put a tiny drip into the snap, then gently pry off.

You could try some string around the snap between the two parts of you are worried about damaging the snap or leather and just want it apart. Something like YoYo size string and loop it around the snap one time between the two parts of the snap and then pull the sting away from each other and the added mass of the string should force the snap apart. If once around doesn't do it a second loop should. Good luck.

This is the way.

I loved "this our it gets easier campaign", what a great ending to an informative video, and it was hard not to smile at the end when he did. Looks like they are all about serving their customers.
