The resistance of opening the Aftermath is quite high, you need a strong index finger to do it. But I found a way that makes it easier to open the Aftermath, easier on your index finger that is.
In picture one I put the tip of my index finger on the point of the kick, pushing down it is hard to start the movement.
In picture two I put my index finger tip near the back tang, I then slide my finger down using the angle of the kick to leverage the push, and the blade slides open much easier. A lot less wear on the finger using this method.
I hope I used the proper terms here.
