The resistance of opening the Aftermath is quite high, you need a strong index finger to do it. But I found a way that makes it easier to open the Aftermath, easier on your index finger that is.

In picture one I put the tip of my index finger on the point of the kick, pushing down it is hard to start the movement.

In picture two I put my index finger tip near the back tang, I then slide my finger down using the angle of the kick to leverage the push, and the blade slides open much easier. A lot less wear on the finger using this method.

I hope I used the proper terms here.

I got the pics mixed up. One should be two and two should be one. Now that should mix things up.

That's even harder to do, and the thumb gets in the way of the Robo open, plus my hand is in a better position the other way.
