I got 4 maybe 5, dad, 3 maybe 4. Eight between us both. We were at the north end of the Salton Sea CA. It was cool, and the birds were not flying fast and furious like previous years. Lots of hunters. Some better spots to the north of us, but last week, if it were opening day, we would have limited out by 8 AM. However, had a great time with my dad, and buddy. Gracie retrieved 3 that I could not find. She kept combing the fields and found all we shot! They are cleaned and I will share them with my dog! Truly, I should have hit at least 8, but oh well. That is hunting. I will post a pic of Gracie in the field later, I gotta drive about 180 miles home first.

Sounds like a great day. I used to be there every Sept. 1st. We would hunt further south around the fields of Date Palms near Salton City. Always had good luck.

We got four in the last hour of light. Not impressive.
My wife went along for the first time ever though, so that was pretty cool. She said she's looking forward to hunting pheasant this year.

I was dragging the last couple of days. I did some shooting tonight :D took a glass of tea and the Rossi singleshot 410 and sat in the rocking chair on the front deck. shot a couple as they flew over. sent the lab mix into back yard , refilled tea . Traded Lab doves for doggy treats. Went back to the rocking chair and repeat :D hit 3 out of 4 which is better than I normally do. Lab had fun (she's not trained to hunt). I got outside
