opening the 0400 Video

Saw the video. How many other Kershaw or ZT speedsafe knives can open like that? I think that is a cool way to open a knife!! The guy in the video didn't seem to need much effort to flick it open.

I tried my Scalion uh uh. My Blackout, only if I flick it real hard. But not very safe in my opinion. I' ll try my Needs work tomorrow. Its a work.

Was that you genjischi..... in the video?

1-11-08 no go on the Needs work.

I tried this flickity opening with the 302, and couldn't do it.

I wouldnt recommend that last way because if you dont have a grip it could go away. I was wearing a lanyard around my wrist when doing the video. Kinda like a wii remote strap. :P

I'll make some more eventaully that actually show the knives up close. I couldn't find a 400 video review for anything. So I'll make one.

ZT200 is not Speed Safe. Speed Safe works two way - it open the blade when knife is already opened to some angle, but it actually close it if that angle is smaller then certain. So it is harder to shake blade out with SS, but for all other knives it is very possible, especially if pivot is not too tight and blade is long and heavy.

There are many trick of opening folding knives - like holding blade etc... I saw some on the internet, but do not remember where.

Thanks, Vassili.

I have an older knife I tried that on once.. holding the blade. I never did it again because It came out of my hands fell onto the floor and stuck stright up right in the carpet. I jumped back and laughed.

There is this one video of a guy with a SOG knife.. I think the X-Ray. And he gets pretty fancy with opening it by flicking his wrist in multiple directions. Something to do with the Arc lock it has.

Perhaps joejeweler or someone else familiar with the definition of a "gravity knife" can shed some light on this.

The definition of "Gravity knife" varies from location to location.
In NYC anything that can be easily opened one handed is considered
a gravity knife but the rest of NY state has different laws.
