OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm already scheduled to see it tongiht adn again Sunday night!

All together now.....The Firefly theme!

Take my love, Take my land
Take me where, I cannot stand

I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me

Take me out to the black
Tell 'em I ain't coming back

Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me

There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity

You can't take the sky from me

10 hours away and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never saw the tv show, but just from the promos I've seen, I can't wait to see this movie. It was a toss up between Serenity and A History of Violence, and I got the chance to call the movie this time. Serenity it is!

I loved that TV show. Sadly they stopped showing it here for some reason.

And yeah, The Last Confederate, the show's song is a favourite.

I gotta wait till monday! :grumpy:
Don't give anything away!!! I hate that.

Haha! I and 2 other staff members from THR saw it tonight. Excellent- the primary thing I might have changed would be a few bucks (couple million, maybe) more for additional special effects. What's there is still good, though.

I give it 4 of 5 stars. :)

The SciFi channel ran 'Firefly' all afternoon and evening on Tuesday. I was home all day and clicked on the TV and was glued to the couch till Midnight! I really got to liking all the characters and that neat little ship, too. I liked the fronteir/western theme of the show, it fit since they're all out there on the fringes of civilization in outer space. I'll definitely see the movie today with the missus. :)

I plan to see it Monday. Big fan of the series; Wheadon has always had an eye for good characters and sharp dialogue. Anyone who passed on Buffy as teen fluff missed an excellent series.

All the reviews I've seen on my various sci-fi boards are positive.

I was so bummed when they canceled "Firefly" after one season. It seems like half the shows I really like get canned immediately. It's one of the few shows where I like the entire cast also. I just got the DVD set for my birthday though.

I can't wait to see "Serenity" and hopefully it will fill in a few gaps. In a perfect world it would be a huge hit and they would bring the series back but I'm not holding my breath.

Damn! I must live in a sorry-ass bubble.... I never even HEARD of Firefly, much less seen it. I saw a little blurb on one of the entertainment tonight type shows that talked about the TV show and the resulting movie. They said the movie could launch the next Star Wars/Star Trek type of series of movies. They also gave the movie a favorable review. I guess I'll have to burst the bubble and get out more.

I saw it today and loved it! Now I gotta get some dvd copies of the tv show. The Reavers were pretty neat, and the bucket of bolts ship was reminiscent of the Millenium Falcon, at least not in its shape. The Captain and the psychic teen were the most filled out character wise, but the other characters played their parts well. The guy from the last Matrix movies that was possessed by Agent Smith was funny. Who was that hottie that used to be the Captains girlfriend? Is it too late to spend the rest of the night on IMDB?

Just got back from seeing Serenity. Great flick! Wheadon has always been able to draw interesting characters, and the crew of Serenity is no exception. I liked the cultured assasin as well....In a kind of creepy way.

They never "explained" the reavers in the series, so this was a nice bit of storytelling as well.

I think "Kaylee" is cute as a bug myself, while the "companion" lady is stunning.

Saw it for the 2nd time last night.

The GF saw it too...liked it quite a bit. I said it was MUCH better than the last few Star Wars flicks.

"No comparison," she said. :)
