Opening up an assisted HTM AXD

Hi DDR Forum. First time posting here. I've got an HTM assisted AXD on the way to me. I've never had or even held one of these blades so for maintenance purposes I was wondering if anyone has ever disassembled and reassembled one of these knives. I’m a little worried about opening it up because I’m unsure of how the action works. Is this something that a DIY’er can expect to take apart and put back together again without issue?

I've scoured the internet with hopes that I might find a video containing the procedures with no luck at all.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

It would appear that no one has undertaken this task which would suggest that perhaps neither should I. Can I ask how many folks that visit this forum have this knife or experience with it? If I recall correctly it sold out most places when it first hit the shelves which makes me think that it's a rather popular piece.

Hey there fella. The best thing I can suggest would be to PM neuron, he is usually very knowledgeable in the HTM arts. If he doesn't know he would be able to direct your question to the man himself, the big cheese, the head honcho, el capitan, ....

I've never needed to disassemble an HTM knife to date. Darrel's assisted mechanism is pretty straightforward, although you'll certainly void your warranty.

If you are asking the question, the answer is most likely no. There is very little need for most folders to require total disassembly. Sure, you have some manufacturers that include a tool and encourage you to, but that is simply because the tolerances on the knives produced is so high, there is very little room for error, aside from gross ignorance on the part of the user.
Te bottom line is that most end users cannot assemble a knife as well as a knife maker/midtech assembler.
