If you are a member of Spyderco's OpFocus Program, please be advised that Spyderco is phasing out the program and substituting it instead w/ID Me effective Jan 1, 2022. So, you can still buy knives using OpFocus until then but after that you'll have to update your account w/one from ID Me.

I just found this out when logging-in in advance of the pending release of the MT35 to make sure my acct was up-to-date.

I already had an ID Me account and it was easy to do the upgrade after I turned off my VPN and switched to a browser w/o any privacy extensions linked to it. Spyderco.com really doesn't like these features, which is important to know if you're going to try to catch an MT35 or 2 when it releases tomorrow.

An interesting thing I also discovered is that updating to ID Me "reset" the number of knives that I could still buy this year from 4 to 10 (the max allowed @ yr).

The MT35 will not count against the OpFocus purchase limit because the discount is not available for it BUT if there are some more Spydies that you want to buy for Xmas that'll put you over the limit under OpFocus, you should try updating your account to ID Me to see if it'll reset your limit too.

I'm taking a "risk" making this bug public here where Sal and other Spyderco ppl visit but there are only 4 more wks left in the year and hopefully Sal will let it pass w/o fixing the "problem" before then.

It is Xmas after all! Merry Xmas, Sal. ;)

SGT1372,
Thanks for reminder, just registered with ID.me.
Was able to verify despite the Navy service records being destroyed by fire July 1973 in St. Louis which was after I was discharged. I do have a copy of my DD-214 however, it was not needed.

Regards,
FK

Thanks for the heads up. Just updated my info. Glad Spyderco has this kinda stuff for service type folks. Can't wait to see if the First Responder Second Sale goes on next year?
