What's in your BoB or "kit"? I've been carring the title brandfor years and went to look for the Opinel site when I found this great review, low and behold it was penned by Cliff Stamp. I am curious what is not in your pocket, and not what is "the best survival knife" but what is in yer kit.

One of Cliffs reviews is why I keep a Becker BK-7 in my BOB. I even take it out and play with it every so often.:D

I have Mora's stashed in each of 3 other kits. The trucks kit has a Frost SwAK stashed inside. I keep an Eriksson M2K in my "take a walk and stay the night" kit and I have a possibles bag that I use for day outings that has an Eriksson SwAK inside.

For the price, Opinels and Moras are hard to resist. I have 3 of each. I would be hard pressed to find myself without one or the other at any time save while flying or showering ;o)

I keep a Mora 2000 in my main kit, other stainless moras in the car, etc. I like the opi's for camping tho. Nice and light, and they take a nice edge.

I gotta admit, I'm not knife rich,oh I do have alot of knives but not many "name brands". This is my favorite, all purpose, do almost anything blade. I've gut out, split the pelvis, and buthcherd many deer, not to mention an array of small game and fish. I use it when I'm fine tuning a bow like a small draw knife when I'm fine tuning a bow, helps me build my hearth and spindle fer fire drill ... best thing is ifn I lose it I'll just get me another.
What I really want is a box of them, cause sure as heck they stopp makin em somday and I won't have enough.

I wish I had one of the Cold Steel twist locks- their version of the Opinel. I love my Opis, but they do not do so well in wet conditions- the Twistlock used Zytel or something instead of wood and would probably make a good fishing knife.

I have one of the CS Twistlocks, LOVE it! All the good features of the Opinel & none of the bad. Bummer they don't make them anymore.
